The John Dundas Holden dealership in Kingaroy has picked up its second prestigious award from General Motors in two years.
Dealer principal Dean Gauld was flown to New York last month to accept the Holden Grand Master award for 2016.
The honour followed the dealership winning the same award in 2015.
Dean said the Kingaroy dealership competed against dealerships of a comparable size across Australia to win the award.
It was assessed on how well it hit its sales targets, service satisfaction, parts targets and the management team’s skills.
“We have to meet the pinnacle of customer service, and all the departments also have targets to hit,” Dean said.
“Service has to have a huge level of customer satisfaction, meeting the ‘fix it right the first time’ policy.”
John Dundas Holden received the award at the Australian level, and then was presented with General Motors’ international award in New York.
Dean said GM also took him to “Motor City” – Detroit – to visit the company’s global office and attend GM conferences.
He said the fact the dealership had won the Grand Master award two years in a row was a reflection of the quality of the John Dundas staff.
“The staff here are great. If you do all the little things right you don’t have to try to win awards, the awards just happen,” Dean said.
