“Dingo” Simon, from the Durong Dingo Sanctuary, has launched a GoFundMe page to help the not-for-profit South Burnett Educational Wildlife Support Group raise enough funds to buy a “wildlife ambulance”.
Simon Stretton said he is often called upon to rescue and save native wildlife, including dingoes.
And sometimes the relocation can be as far as interstate.
Dingo Simon also requires reliable transportation when he is taking the Dingo Sanctuary animals to school displays or shows.
“The 2001 model Sprinter ex-ambulance we have now is costing further money for repairs as it has just travelled over 400,000km,” Simon said.
“The charity badly needs to have this replaced with something more recent.
“We have applied four times to the Gambling Community Fund, but have been unsuccessful.
“So many people are telling me to set up a GoFundMe page, so that has been done today.
“All I ask is on behalf of the animals that need to be rescued.”
