Several young South Burnett rugby league players have earned spots in representative teams following last weekend’s 47th Battalion carnival in Maryborough.
Players took part in round robin matches in front of selectors, hoping to be picked to play for the Wide Bay Bulls in the Central Division Junior Carnival in Gladstone on June 3-4.
The best players at the Central Division carnival will be picked to play for the Wide Bay Bulls.

The Murgon Mustangs are hosting a big family fun day on Saturday to mark the Domestic Violence Awareness round of the local football competition.
There’ll be a full day of rugby league action at Murgon Showgrounds from U6s right through to the seniors.
Murgon will take on Cherbourg under lights from 5:30pm.
Entry to the grounds is free.
There will also be girls rugby league, with the South Burnett U14s, U16s and U18s playing teams from Caboolture fom 11:00am.
The South Burnett U18s boys team, who are playing in the Toowoomba competition, will face the Toowoomba Wattles at 1:30pm.
It’s an alcohol-free event and there’ll also be free rides, an inflatable obstacle course and free craft activities.
