It’s not every day that a bunch of people file into a cinema to watch a string of ads, but that’s exactly what happened at the Satellite Cinema in Kingaroy on Friday.
The group of business owners were previewing new video ads made for their companies by local businesswoman Tina Torrens.
Tina is very proud of the expansion of her business, Torkit Business Solutions, into cinema advertising, hence the special preview night (complete with popcorn).
Businesses included Beauty Finesse, Framed With Style, Karate 4 Kids, Like Home Early Learning Centre, Kingaroy Brake, Radiator and Mechanical Service; St Mary’s Catholic College, and Clearpath Information Systems.
Tina and her business expansion was one of the featured talks at the “Small Business In A Day” workshop held the day before at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room.
Tina explained to the audience how her business had started and grown, and how the decision to employ a staff member had made all the difference.
Other guest speakers at the business forum included Josh Gadischke, from Proteco, who last year launched a $3.2 million expansion of his plant in Kingaroy; James Eckart, from Cyonic Computers in Kingaroy; and BIEDO chief executive officer Kristy Frahm.
The free workshop was sponsored by the State Government’s Office of Small Business.
There was also an opportunity for participants to have no-obligation one-on-one sessions with business mentors.
