Time is running out for people wanting to take advantage of the latest opportunity to have their say on AGL’s proposed Coopers Gap wind farm.
The Director-General of the Department of Energy and Water Supply is seeking feedback in regards to issuing AGL Hydro Partnership (the proposed operator of the wind farm) with a power generation authority.
Written submissions close on May 1.
Under the Electricity Act 1994, the Regulator (ie. the Director-General) issues licences for generation, transmission and distribution activities in Queensland’s electricity industry.
When an applicant applies for a generation authority to connect generating plant with capacity greater than 30MW to a transmission grid or supply network, the Regulator must invite interested persons to make submissions about the application.
The proposed Coopers Gap Wind Farm is a 460MW power station to be located about 50km south-west of Kingaroy.
Further details are available online or download the Application for Electricity Generation Authority (385kb PDF)
