It was a big night last Thursday for junior Futsal players with the semi-finals and finals of various grades being decided at the Kingaroy State High School indoor sports auditorium.
Action was fierce on the courts in the sudden-death semi-finals in the Juniors and Teens, before the Grand Finals wrapped up the end of the summer season.
Minis players had a bye but will be back in action this Thursday (March 30) to mark the end of their season.
Also on Thursday, the finals of the Youth competition will be played, followed by presentations.
Training for the Regionals is now in full swing, with players taking to the courts on Sundays to practise hard.

Juniors
Results of the knock-out semi-finals:
In a high-scoring games, Wiggles 9 (Archie Lord 5 goals) defeated Thunder 6 (Jackson Radcliffe 3 goals).
The second semi-final went into extra time after Beast Unicorns and Detonators were locked 5-all at full-time. Beast Unicorns scored four goals in extra time to take the final score to 9-5.
Grand Final
Their big effort in the semi-final took a toll on Beast Unicorns, who were defeated 9-0 by Wiggles, who played a great final game.

Teens
Results of the knock-out semi-finals:
In the first semi-final, the team with the oddest name in the competition, the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies overpowered Flower Power 10-2. Denzel Strauss scored four goals for the Fire Breathers while Ethan Gates kicked both Flower Power’s goals.
The second semi-final was a very close game, with Arsenals 4 just defeating Spartans 3.
Grand Final
Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies 9 defeated Arsenals 3 in a hard-fought game which included some great futsal.
