Cherbourg youngsters will have a range of activities to keep them busy over the Christmas break.
South Burnett CTC will have activities on offer in Cherbourg and Murgon, including pool events, arts and crafts, a disco and movies.
Several excursions are also planned including trips to Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Gympie, the Sunshine Coast and Rainbow Beach.
State Development Minister Dr Anthony Lynham – the Ministerial “champion” for Cherbourg – said the program of fun summer activities would keep Cherbourg youngsters engaged, entertained and active during the Christmas period.
“Children and young people are the future of these communities as the next generation of decision-makers so the Palaszczuk Government is working hand-in-hand with our discrete Indigenous communities to support youngsters to grow into great local leaders,” he said.
“The importance of allowing kids to simply act like kids can’t be overstated.
“I want to encourage local youths in Cherbourg to take full advantage of programs that will get them out and about kicking footies, reading books, having fun and learning through the trial and error of play.”
