Numbers remained high in Murgon for the cattle sale on Tuesday, with 800 cattle yarded.
The market for all descriptions was fully firm on the previous sale, and there was an improvement in the values of most weaners, both for steers and heifers.
Cattle for the sale were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Mt Perry, Coringa, Biggenden, Nanango, Kingaroy, Kilkivan and Murgon.
- Droughtmaster steers of 560kg from K & M Armstrong at Manyung sold for $3.05/kg for a $1700 return.
- Heavy Charolais cows from Manumbar sold to $2.45/kg for $1765. Cows over 500kg averaged $2.33/kg, 400-500kg cows sold to $2.40/kg, averaging $2.22/kg, and lighter cows under 400kg sold to $1.70/kg.
- A few Heavy Bulls were yarded, the tops selling to $2.48/kg and $1820.
- Export heifers topped at $2.98/kg and $1320.
- Charolais cross steers of 428kg from B. Knight at Manumbar sold at $3.40/kg for $1458.
- Droughtmaster steers weighing 410kg sold to $1365 at $3.35/kg.
- Charolais cross steers weighing 320kg from S & J Hodgson of Redgate sold for $1136 at $3.54/kg.
- Santa cross steers of 375kg from A & K Zerner of Murgon sold for $1290 and $3.44/kg.
- Charolais steers of 380kg from G & C Julian sold for $3.40/kg to return $1290.
- Charbray steers of 352kg from L & R Newton sold for $1202 and $3.41/kg.
- Droughtmaster weaner steers from J. Webber of Cloyna sold for $902 and $3.98/kg.
- Brangus weaner steers on the account of R & D Warren at Hivesvillle sold for $810 at $3.96/kg. R. Randle of Johnstown also sold Brangus weaner steers for $814 at $3.91/kg.
- Droughtmaster cross weaner steers of 238kg from B & A Gannon in Gayndah sold for $922 at $3.87/kg.
- Brahman cross weaner steers for P & A Dingle of Mt Perry sold for $881 at $3.68/kg.
- Charolais cross heifers of 378kg sold for $1253 at $3.31/kg.
- Belmont Red cross heifers weighing 340kg from M & C Ward in Murgon sold for $3.30/kg at $1122.
- Brangus weaner heifers from Hivesville sold for $3.59/kg for $784.
- Murray Grey weaner heifers from Goomeri sold to $3.43/kg for $772.
- Santa weaner heifers weighing 211kg from Paradise Dam at Coringa sold for $711 at $3.36/kg.

UPDATE December 9, 2016: southburnett.com.au has been informed that Pratt Agencies have now decided to hold another sale on Tuesday, December 13 at 8:00am.
The reason for the extra sale is to avoid a long gap between the December 6 sale and the first sale of the New Year, which will be held on January 10.
