Downer and Stanwell have jointly won the prestigious 2016 Coal Mine Of The Year award for their operation at Meandu.
The 13th annual Prospect Awards were handed out in Sydney recently.
The awards recognise the achievements of individuals and companies across a range of criteria including Excellence in Mine Safety, Contribution to Mining, and Australian Mine of the Year.
Downer and Stanwell were also finalists in the Community Interaction Award.
In addition, Downer was a finalist in Contract Miner Of The Year and Excellence In Mine Safety.
Shane Suttor, Maintenance Manager at Meandu Mine, was also a finalist in the Mine Manager of the Year category.
