Friday night’s disco will be a clown-free zone … ghosts, zombies and witches welcome

October 13, 2016

The scariest things that will be at Friday night’s Blue Light Disco in Kingaroy will be witches, ghosts and goblins … there will be ABSOLUTELY no clowns.

Organisers of the disco have deemed clowns too scary, even for a disco which has a Halloween theme and a catchcry “Come Inside If You Dare …”

So a note went up on Facebook this week:

Due to the current ‘clown’ craze which is causing a lot of angst amongst the community, if anyone attends our Blue Light Disco this Friday night dressed as a clown they will be turned away.

We are also asking that parents walk their child/children up to the hall entry and if they have any dramas please see one of the police officers or volunteers at the event. We do not want something as stupid as this craze ruin a great night out for the kids!

The Kingaroy Blue Light Association’s scariest-ever – but clown-free – disco for Prep to 14-year-olds will run from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Kingaroy Town Hall. Entry is $5.

Footnote: We were trying really, really hard to ignore this clown thing … whatever happened to Pokemon, planking and duck faces?
