A man aged in his 30s was flown to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment after being bitten by a snake on a property on Boondooma Road at Old Cooranga.

The man was working on an orchard about 20km south of Mundubbera when he was struck on his right hand by an unidentified brown snake on Friday morning.

He was transported by ambulance to Mundubbera Hospital and then airlifted by the RACQ LifeFlight helicopter to Bundaberg.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said he travelled in a stable condition.
