A 52-year-old Kingaroy man will face a string of drugs charges after police searched a property in Harris Road on Friday.

Police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis, a number of drug utensils, and 12 marijuana plants growing behind a shed.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the plants ranged in size from 5cm to 30cm tall.

The man has been issued with a notice to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 26 to face charges of producing a dangerous drug, as well as possessing drugs and drug utensils.

The Queensland road toll has now reached 167 for 2016, with six deaths – more than one a day – recorded so far in September.
