Former Kingaroy cricketer Holly Ferling has overcome injury and a form slump to be selected in the Southern Stars squad to tour Sri Lanka later this month.
The Aussie cricketers will play four One-Day Internationals and a one-off T20 match.
The Southern Stars currently sit on top of the ICC Women’s Championship ladder and have the opportunity of earning valuable points in Sri Lanka towards this ranking.
Three of the ODIs they play in Sri Lanka will count towards the championship.
The top four teams at the end of the year will gain automatic entry into next year’s Women’s World Cup in England.
The Southern Star will leave Australia on September 12.
Sri Lanka tour itinerary:
- September 15: Warm-up match, Colombo
- September 18: First ODI, Dambulla
- September 20: Second ODI, Dambulla
- September 23: Third ODI, Colombo
- September 25: Fourth ODI, Colombo
- September 27: T20, Colombo
