Police investigating the death of a 43-year-old Mundubbera man on August 23 have arrested two NSW men and charged them with murder.

At about 11:30am on Tuesday, police were called to a home in Mundubbera in response to reports of a man with stab wounds.

A 43-year-old man was transported to Mundubbera Base Hospital where he later died.

Later that day, police began a homicide investigation and called on the public for help.

On Saturday, police reported that a 35-year-old man had been arrested on Thursday in Orange, NSW.

He appeared in the Orange Magistrates Court on Friday and is due to be extradited to Queensland to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

Overnight. detectives also arrested a 70-year-old Dubbo man.

He is due to appear in the Dubbo Magistrates Court on Monday where extradition back to Queensland will be sought.

Investigations by detectives are continuing.
