A 43-year-old man taken to hospital on Tuesday morning with stab wounds has died.
Police were called to a residence in Bunce Street, Mundubbera, about 11:30am after it was reported a man had stab wounds to his chest and head.
The man was transported to Mundubbera Base Hospital in a serious condition but later died.
A crime scene has been established and detectives from Maryborough CIB are investigating, along with Scientific and Scenes of Crime Officers.
There is no further information at this stage.
