Police have charged two people in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Ryke Fuel in Kingaroy on Tuesday night.

An 18-year-old Nanango man and an 18-year-old Caboolture man were arrested and charged after police visited where they were staying in Youngman Street, Kingaroy.

As well, a 16-year-old youth and a 14-year-old boy were dealt with by police under the Youth Justices Act.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said a search by police had located certain items of clothing and a tomahawk which it will be alleged were used during the attempted robbery.

The two older men will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon.
