A 22-year-old Ellesmere man was lucky to escape serious injury on Wednesday evening when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck a dog on Kumbia Road shortly after 5:00pm.
The man, who was carrying a pillion passenger at the time of the accident, suffered cuts and lacerations when he came off his bike.
The pillion passenger was unharmed but the dog was killed.
Neighbours near the crash scene called the ambulance.
Ambulance officers took the man to Kingaroy Hospital for observation.
