Kingaroy Police have urged Pokemon Go players to take more care while they’re hunting down the pesky monsters.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said there had been reports of several “near misses” in Kingaroy over the past week involving Pokemon Go players.

“Watch while you’re crossing the road. Don’t forget to look to the left and right,” he said.

“Watch the traffic, not your mobile phone screen!”

Snr Sgt Frank said it seemed a lot of Pokemon have appeared in Alford Street near the Post Office and in front of the police station construction site.

He said these areas could be very congested, with trucks coming and going.

“We have had a couple of near misses already,” he said.

He also warned motorists not to chase Pokemon while they’re driving … using a mobile phone, even to catch Pokemon, is illegal as well as dangerous.
