Two Nanango teenagers have been blamed for a spate of thefts in the town earlier this month.

The youths, aged 15 and 16, have been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

Officer-in-charge of Nanango Police, Sgt Jason Newton, said police would allege a total of 19 offences were committed by the pair, including burglary, break and enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage and arson.

“We thank members of our community for their assistance and ask that everyone remains vigilant with regards to property security – lock it or lose it,” he said.

The incidents included break-ins in at local businesses, the theft and arson of two motor vehicles, and burglaries at private residences.
