Cherbourg rugby league legend Henry Hegarty will be the special guest at an event being held at the State Library of Queensland on July 29.
Henry, a former captain of Norths Devils and a member of their Team of the Century, will be in conversation with Fox Sports presenter Ben Ikin.
Norths Devils won six straight Brisbane premierships – from 1959–64 – and Henry played in the last five.
The conversation will be followed by a screening of the NITV documentary “Sisters in League” which documents the Cherbourg women’s rugby league team, the Hornettes, as they compete in a Queensland Murri Carnival.
The event is being presented by Brisbane City Council as part of Black History Month.
It is free but tickets are limited. Seats can be reserved online
