Fire investigators have been called in to determine the cause of separate fires that have destroyed two wooden houses in the South Burnett area within a day.

At 6:30pm on Monday, fire crews were called to a blaze in a house on Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Home Creek, near Cushnie.

A QFES spokesman said the old Queenslander was fully ablaze when firefighters arrived.

Twelve fire units – both urban and rural – attended and deployed hoses into the building but it could not be saved.

The fire was contained at 8:00pm and fully extinguished by 9:40pm.

The second house fire occurred on Tuesday morning at Inverlaw.

Eight fire crews were called to the blaze in a highset Queenslander on Benair Road about 9:30am.

The building was engulfed in flames when they arrived and the roof had collapsed.

The fire was contained by 10:22am and fully out at 12:27pm.

No one was injured in either fire.
