Former Kingaroy Red Ant Matt Ballin’s horror season with injury has continued for Wests Tigers.
The NRL club announced on Tuesday that Ballin will miss the remainder of the season because of a knee injury.
Ballin joined Wests Tigers at the start of the year after playing for Manly.
He made his club debut in Round 11 against the Newcastle Knights after missing the opening 10 rounds recovering from an off-season knee reconstruction.
After Ballin missed Sunday’s game against the Sydney Roosters, Wests Tigers confirmed the hooker would miss the remainder of the season.
Scans on his knee after the Round 11 win over the Broncos showed that Ballin would need more surgery before taking the field again, effectively sidelining him for the rest of the year.
The club statement said Ballin had not suffered the same injury that he came to Wests Tigers with, and had not ruptured again the same injury which he had surgery on last year.
Wests Tigers is “extremely confident” of having the 32-year-old in the team for the opening game of 2017.
