Landholders planning to seek damages from UCG operator Linc Energy will meet at Chinchilla RSL Club on Sunday afternoon (April 17).
The residents, who are planning a group civil action with Toowoomba-based lawyers, claims Linc’s activities contaminated soil and underground water in a 32,000ha agricultural area.
Sunday’s meeting, which will start at 1:00pm, aims to explain to landholders how they can join the group action.
In a separate matter, Linc Energy faces five criminal charges alleging it broke environmental laws while operating its UCG plant.
This case will be heard in the District Court at a date to be fixed.
