Two women have been sentenced to nine months jail – and then immediately paroled – when they appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Monday charged over the theft of cash from a Kingaroy business at the weekend.

Louise Burgess, 42, from Kingaroy, and Nikki Barratt-Coates, 20, from Nanango, pleaded guilty to entering premises and stealing.

Police alleged the pair stole cashbox from Cardio Central in Pound Street, Kingaroy.

The pair were arrested on Sunday after police viewed CCTV footage from the premises.

Burgess also pleaded guilty to two more charges of unlawful entry and one count of wilful damage.

She was sentenced to another seven months in prison, to be served concurrently, and released on paroled.
