The first stage of an “End-To-End” bicycle ride along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail will take place this weekend.

Members of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Group will gather at Moore on Saturday and then hop on board a coach to travel to Yarraman.

A truck will transport their pushbikes.

From Yarraman they will pedal the 44km back down the rail trail to Moore.

Local riders have been invited to join the BVRT Users Group on the ride.

Members of the BVRT Users Group will act as ride marshals.

The cost of the coach and truck hire will be shared (about $25 each).

“We will ride from Yarraman stopping at the famous Blackbutt Bakery for smoko and then for a country smorgasbord lunch at Linville Hotel ($22),” spokesman Paul Heymans said.

“Then a leisurely ride for the last seven kilometres into Moore where we can stop at The Old Church Art Gallery to view the gorgeous works of art for sale and purchase a post-ride coffee, tea or a fantastic passionfruit drink in a jar.

“It’s important that we keep track of accurate numbers, so email Cliff Weier of your intention to join at cliffweier@optusnet.com.au with ‘BVRT E2E 2016’ in the subject line.

“As usual you ride with us at your own risk. Your bike must be in good condition and carrying at least a spare tube.”
