Police are investigating a motorcycle crash this afternoon near Ravensbourne which has left a man aged in his 50s with serious injuries.
At about 12;30pm, the motorcyclist was travelling on the Esk Hampton Road towards Esk when it is believed he hit a rock on the road.
The rider came off his bike and ended up down an embankment.
Firefighters helped to retrieve the man and he was flown by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.
A CareFlight spokesperson said the rider suffered suspected spinal and leg injuries, as well as a broken collarbone.
The road near the site of the crash was closed for a while but has since reopened.
Investigations are continuing.
