A 49-year-old woman was lucky to escape serious injuries when her car veered off Kumbia Road and struck a tree in Kumbia on Thursday evening.
The woman was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with suspected chest injuries but has since been discharged.
She allegedly told police she was trying to secure a loose piece of paper blowing around her car when she lost control.
The Toyota Starlet snapped the tree off at its base.
She was the sole person in the vehicle.
The woman has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of driving without due care and attention.
