Nanango vet Kathy Webb has come second in this year’s Toastmaster International Central Division humorous speech competition.
The competition was held in Hervey Bay last weekend and there were 100 people in attendance, as well as six competitors in her category.
Kathy told a light-hearted tale about how one of her friends bought a little black slip that had the audience laughing from the very beginning.
And if the competition winner Ted Gibbs can’t make it to the District 69 Conference in May, Kathy will stepping up to represent the South Burnett against competitors from all over Queensland.
Kathy attends the local Toastmasters meetings in Kingaroy to refine her skills.
She also assists with the annual Speechcraft course that the group holds around this time of year.
The next Speechcraft course will start on April 14.
