South Burnett graziers have been invited to attend a pasture forum and field walk next month at Booubyjan to discuss ways to improve productivity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The day is being organised by South East Burnett Landcare Group in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Burnett Catchment Care Association and The Carbon Farming Project.
The forum, to be held at Booubyjan Hall from 9:00am on March 16, will cover the results of the recent Native Pasture Treatment trial as well as discussing growing legumes in native pastures, improved animal nutrition, and grazing practices for enhanced productivity.
It will also discuss how improved productivity and herd performance reduce gas emissions.
After lunch, a field walk will visit the Native Pasture Treatment trial at the property, ‘Tomine’.
Cost is free, but RSVPs are required for catering.
