Murgon’s Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum will receive a $2432 grant under the Federal Government’s “Saluting Their Service” program.
Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss said he was pleased the Federal Government was able to provide the grant, which will enable the Museum to complete its wartime memorabilia display.
“This funding will assist the Dairy and Heritage Museum in Murgon to purchase a fibreglass horse and some picture framing for their displays,” Mr Truss said.
“It is important to preserve wartime collections and displays of this type, as they recognise the wartime contributions to our country which were made by many small country towns across Australia.
“The Saluting Their Service program encourages community participation in commemorative activities which honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served Australia in wars, conflicts and peace-keeping operations.
