The South Burnett XI – better known these days as the “Bush Pigs” – will be taking on Gympie in the final of the Goodchild Shield competition on Sunday at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.
South Burnett have earned the right to host the final in Kingaroy despite a narrow loss to Gympie in their last game, played at Gympie.
Hopefully for local fans, the home ground advantage will help the South Burnett bring home the shield.
The Bush Pigs won Games 1 and 2 in the four-way series, downing Fraser Coast and Bundaberg in big performances.
The last time the South Burnett won the Goodchild Shield was in 2o13 when they defeated Bundaberg.
