Our local firies never rest … even if it is Christmas.
Rural fire crews were called to a grass fire near Kumbia Back Road at Benair on Monday about 11:00am.
A Stuart River Rural Fire Brigade spokesman said the fire had spread from a previous stack burn and was under control by the property owners when they arrived. Fire crews helped to make the area safe.
Then at 8:00pm on Monday, rural and urban firefighters were called to Pimpimbudgee after reports of a fire on a dairy property on Soldier Settlement Road.
Firefighters found a tractor had caught fire in a shed, damaging nearby farming equipment.
