Ambulance paramedics and firefighters work to free the man from under the upturned tractor

Rescue crews have freed a man who was pinned under a small tractor for more than a hour on Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred on a property on Izzard Road, South Nanango about 2:00pm; he was freed about 3:05pm.

The Rescue 500 helicopter landed nearby in Izzard Road to transport the man to hospital.

He suffered chest and shoulder injuries but his condition is unknown.

Earlier today (at 2:55pm)

Rescue crews are on site at an Izzard Road property in South Nanango working to free a man trapped under a small tractor.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have three units on the scene – and a fourth is on the way – to help cut the man free.

Police and ambulance paramedics are also assisting at the scene.

The man is believed to have been working to remove tree debris from the weekend storms when the tractor flipped about 2:00pm.

A QAS spokesman said the State Government’s Rescue 500 helicopter was en route to the Nanango Soccer Fields and would fly the man to hospital as soon as he was released.

The man is believed to have chest injuries from the steering wheel of the tractor, but is currently pinned by his arms.

He is being treated by paramedics at the scene.
