Here’s the fishing report for Bjelke-Petersen Dam for the week ending Monday, November 23:

Bjelke-Petersen Dam (Yallakool)

  • Dam Level = 45.9 per cent

“Fantastic” is the word for fishing this week with hundreds of fish caught throughout the dam!

Giant Golden Perch up to 54cm long have been the common catch in the dam with spinnerbaits being the main choice of lure used in about five metres of water.

Bass on Saturday were caught by the bucketload with perfect, warm conditions for them to school up and feed.

Using a sounder to find the bass was the key to most anglers’ success for the weekend’s fishing competition.

Redclaw are still scarce with the occasional few caught overnight.
