The last round of the Queensland Rally Championship will be raced on forestry roads around Benarkin and Yarraman on Saturday (November 14).

The rally will feature some of Australia’s top drivers.

Currently Brisbane-based Ian Menzies (Lancer Evo 6) is leading the championship table by 27 points ahead of Wayne Menzies (no relation) from Rockhampton in an Evo 8.

Whoever finishes ahead in Round 6 Benarkin will take out the 2015 Queensland Drivers Championship.

A total of 28 competitors will be taking part in the Benarkin round, including seven entered in the challenging “pace-noted” version of the event.

The distance covered will be about 290km, comprising 115km of competitive stages.

Spectators are welcome to come along to the Benarkin State School to watch the start of the rally at noon.

Food will be available, prepared by the Benarkin State School P&C.

There are also three spectator points along the rally route.  Two are within a 10-minute drive of the main service park at Benarkin State School and the final one is in Yarraman.

(More information will be available from officials on the day)
