A group of junior athletes from across the South Burnett have been practising hard ahead of a regional competition being held this weekend at Wamuran.
The 29 children from the South Burnett Little Athletics Club are heading off to the Sunshine Coast Regional Relays competition.
They will compete in age groups ranging from Under 7 to Under 14.
Instructor Kellie Pogany said the U7s and U8s would be competing in a “shuttle relay”.
The U9s and U10s are in 4 x 200m and 4 x 100m events.
The older children (U11s and above) will be taking part in 4 X 100m and medley events (200m, 400m and 800m).
Some will also be taking part in field events, chosen from high jump, long jump, discus and shotput.
The top three competitors in every age group from U9s and above have the opportunity to qualify to take part in the State titles.
