Well-known Wondai resident Winston Burrows was presented with Life Membership of CROW-FM at the community radio station’s recent annual general meeting.
CROW-FM chairman John Box said “Life Membership” was for volunteers and employees who have given a minimum of 10 years’ service to the radio station and the South Burnett community.
“They have consistently worked over and above what would be expected of a volunteer or employee,” John said.
“We have two such Life Members.
“Wayne Kratzmann, our first, was awarded Life membership on his retirement from the station in 2012.
“Country Bob Stevenson, who Studio 1 is named after, is our second. Sadly Bob passed recently and is a major loss to the CROW family.
“Today we honour a Board Member who has been involved in CROW from virtually day dot as well as everything ‘Wondai’. Of course, I speak of Winston Burrows, our now third Life Member.
“Winston and Margaret Burrows have been some of the greatest outstanding supporters and advocates for CROW-FM and the Wondai community.”
John Box was re-elected chairman at the AGM. Secretary is Andrea Steele and vice-chairman Winston Burrows.
Voluntary Board members are David Sewell, Cr Ros Heit and Kirstie Schumacher; and Chris Corcoran and Andrew Hobbs are advisory non-voting members.
