Ooh la la, it was a a night in Paris … well, Kumbia actually … but the glitz and glamour were definitely from another world.
“Paris” was the theme at the Kumbia Memorial Hall for last week’s Debutante Ball, a genuine South Burnett tradition.
Nine debutantes dressed in their finest were presented to the special guest, Professor Joanne Aitken, before a crowd of spectators lined along both sides of the hall.
Prof Aitken is Head of Research and the Director of the Queensland Cancer Registry at the Queensland Cancer Council.
Fittingly, the night was a fundraiser for cancer research.
