Fears that the Wondai Kindergarten may be forced to close permanently – or be taken over by another operator – were put to rest after a public meeting at the kindy on Tuesday night.
Louise Jackson, a representative from the kindy’s governing body The Gowrie (Qld), spoke to angry parents and carers.
The kindy is temporarily closed because of accreditation issues.
When it re-opens in January next year, The Gowrie will take greater control of the local organisation.
Former kindy president Jane Iszlaub has been appointed secretary.
In the meantime, a playgroup will meet at the kindy one day a week.
