The South Burnett didn’t forget missing NSW toddler William Tyrrell at the weekend, with a good crowd turning out at Wondai for a special “Walk 4 William”.

Police believe three-year-old William Tyrrell was abducted while playing outside his grandmother’s house at Benaroon Drive in Kendall on the NSW mid-North Coast last year.

Saturday was the first anniversary of his disappearance.

Natasha Monk from Proston – the mother of three young boys – saw various “Walks 4 William” around Australia advertised on social media but realised nothing had been organised for the South Burnett.

So she decided do something about it …

On Saturday, Natasha and about 80 other people gathered at the Wondai Sportsground to “Walk 4 William”.

William Tyrrell was last seen wearing a Spiderman suit, so many of the walkers on Saturday were dressed in red and blue (Spiderman colours) and some of the children were wearing their own Spiderman outfits.

The walkers covered 2km, and as Natasha explained, it wasn’t a fundraiser.

“We wanted to raise awareness about William. Someone must know where he is,” Natasha said.

“And we wanted to remind parents about keeping an eye on their kids.”

Linda Brown and Cheralea Ardrey, from Murgon, presented Natasha with a bunch of flowers after the walk to thank her for organising it
