Here’s the fishing report for Boondooma and Bjelke-Petersen dams for the week ending Monday, September 7:

* * *

Boondooma Dam

  • Dam Level = 65 per cent

Fishing has been slow to start and hard to find but towards the end of the week fishing did improve for some.

A few guys caught Bass over 50cm, all caught on different lures.

A 10 pound Golden Perch was caught in the Boyne River and another 13 pound was caught in the Stuart River.These guys were just out to catch and release and enjoy their fishing. It made their day.

The redclaw are still patchy but if you find them you will get a feed.

Bjelke-Petersen Dam (Yallakool)

  • Dam Level = 47.9 per cent

Another great week for fishing as things start to ramp up. Golden Perch and Bass were dominating the lines this week.

All fish were caught around the 4-6 metre mark on a variety of bait and lures, ranging from worms to hard-bodied lures.

There were no reports of Silvers or Catfish caught this week.

Redclaw are still elusive but hopefully the waters will now begin to warm up and bring them on!
