The Grand Final of the inaugural U15s Youth Cup was also played last Saturday at Kingaroy, with the visitors, Chinchilla, overcoming the home team in atrocious conditions.

At half-time, Chinchilla led 14-0 and looked to be handling the wet much better than the Red Ants; but Kingaroy came back stronger after the break to take the game to the Bulldogs.

Both sides managed just 10 points in the second half. At the final siren, Chinchilla were ahead 24-10.

Chinchilla tries were scored by Benji Neliman (3), Cayton Hohn and Rhys Gibson; Neliman kicked two goals.

For Kingaroy, Ben Irwin and Anthony O’Campo scored tries and Alex Dunemann kicked one goal.

The U15 Red Ants seemed all at sea in the wet conditions … literally
