The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service says there has been a confirmed case of measles in Toowoomba.

A person with measles attended the Spotted Cow Hotel on the evening of August 15, and the Sizzlers Restaurant from 8:30am to 10:30am on August 16.

The person was in the infectious period of their disease.

The Public Health Unit is asking people who attended either of these venues at these times to watch out for symptoms of measles.

Anyone who may have been exposed to the virus should ensure their vaccinations are up-to-date and should seek medical advice immediately if any symptoms arise.

The symptoms of measles include a non-itchy rash which usually begins on the face or neck, fever and cold-like symptoms including a dry cough, stuffy nose or conjunctivitis.
