Seniors Week was celebrated in style by SBcare on Thursday with a special rock’n’roll lunch at the Lakeview Friendship Centre in Kingaroy.

SBcare Program Co-ordinator Prim Laurentiussen said more than 100 people packed into the centre to enjoy live music, lucky draws and lunch.

“The  theme for this year’s National Seniors Week was ‘It’s On For Young And Old’  so we thought rock’n’roll would be a good thing to bring the young and old together,” Prim said.

The South Burnett Gas Guzzlers club brought along a couple of classic American cars which attracted great interest.

Terry and Rhonda Mackrell, from the Gas Guzzlers, also did a spot of rock’n’roll dancing which brought back many memories.

The South Burnett’s own Elvis, Jeff Hancox, also performed some of the King’s big hits.

Many of the carers in attendance dressed in 50s style to add even more colour to the event.

SBcare employees Joy Buckley and Stephanie O’Brien added a touch of 1950s style
Douglas Dobson, from Memerambi, was keen to try out the driver’s seat in Terry Mackrell’s 1923 Ford T-Bucket hotrod
