The South Burnett Regional Council is looking for the owner of two stockhorses found wandering in the Moffatdale area on July 22.
The mare and filly have been impounded.
Anyone wanting to claim the animals must be able to provide proof of ownership.
If the horses are not claimed before noon on August 7, they will be advertised for sale.
Meanwhile, Council is seeking expressions of interest from anyone interested in buying five stockhorses: a stallion, a filly and three geldings.
The animals were originally found wandering in the Murgon area on Wednesday, July 8.
Expressions must be received by noon on August 7, and the highest or any offer may not necessarily be accepted.
Collection of the horses will be from the Wondai Dip Yards.
