There was a special celebration at Taabinga State School’s morning assembly on Friday … a big “thank you” to groundsman Lindsay Kath.
Lindsay has been looking after all the minor maintenance (“kids tend to break things!”), gardens and mowing at the school for an incredible 25 years.
He believes he may be only the third groundsman the school has had.
“The last guy was here for 16 years. We tend to stay here for a while,” he said.
“The kids are really good and it’s a good-sized school now.”
Lindsay was presented with anniversary cards by the students and a special Certificate of Service from Education Queensland.
