An “Open Gate Day” is being held at the Kapernick family’s Glenrock Farm, near Cloyna, next month for agricultural producers interested in learning how to use grazing animals to increase profits and productivity.
The day, part of Holistic Management International’s Open Learning series, will be held from 9:00am on July 4.
“Open Gates” are peer-to-peer learning days which feature short presentations and small group exercises.
The day aims to help participants:
- Become familiar with Holistic Management farming techniques that improve land productivity, water holding capacity, and increase soil health
- Acquire skills to better estimate forage on hand and carrying capacity to improve forage utilisation and soil health
- Learn more about key soil health indicators and how to improve soil carbon
Cost is $25 per person – including lunch – if registering online (or $30 on the day).
Presenters include Craig and Claire Kapernick, Jason Virtue, Damien O’Sullivan, Sue Trott and Kylie Carr.
Glenrock Farms is located at 32 Nielsons Road, Cloyna.
