Here’s the fishing report for Boondooma and Bjelke-Petersen dams for the week ending Monday, June 22:

Boondooma Dam

  • Dam Level = 70 per cent

Well BASS Australia nation came and went. The results were ok for Bass with some up to 2kg weighed in. But as they all said, the fishing was tough and the Bass were very hard to catch.

The positive for the weekend was the amount of massive Golden Perch caught; some of these were 60cm in length.

There were also some really big Saratoga, one measuring 75cm.

The redclaw are still patchy but if you find them you will get a feed.

Bjelke-Petersen Dam – Yallakool

  • Dam Level = 51 per cent

Another cold weekend and bait was best with good catches of golden perch and the odd silver perch.

If you were using lures, jigging and hoping the bottom were the most successful methods.

Redclaw are still slow but this is to be expected with the cold weather.
