Nanango musician Gavin Cisneros made a remarkable return to the stage on Saturday night when he had the opportunity to sing alongside legendary guitarist Phil Emmanuel in Kingaroy.

Gavin, his brother Tony (‘Mr Q’) Cisneros, Daniel Sue-Fong – and a bunch of other local musicians – were at the Commercial Hotel where Phil was appearing live.

Just three months ago, Gavin almost lost his life when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Redmans Road at Kingaroy.

He suffered broken arms, legs and ribs and had to endure a lengthy stay in hospital.

But the popular South Burnett musician always intended to get back on stage and on Saturday night he got his wish … in an extraordinary way.

Commercial Hotel licencee Tim Harris said the concert had packed out the hotel’s nightclub.

“The atmosphere was really great and everyone seemed to be having a great time,” Tim said.

“I hope we can do this again some time in the future.”
