As anyone will tell you, it’s been a bit chilly over the past week.
Some strong south easterly breezes have seen only a handful of dedicated players on the greens.
And the promised rain didn’t arrive; with most clubs reporting only a couple of millimetres.
The end result has been another very quiet, wintry week on the greens.
Here’s what’s been happening:

Yarraman News
Yarraman getting along well with their Championship matches.
In the first semi-final of the Mixed Pairs, John and Jenny Moore defeated Bill and Lorri Holmes 18-15.
And in the other Mixed Pairs semi-final, Brian and Kay Dugdell defeated George and Glenda Wolski 22-17.
The Final was a great match, and it saw John and Jenny defeat Brian and Kay 20-19.
But it was close.
So close, in fact, that the score was 19-all after the last end, so an extra end had to be played with the Moore’s getting one point and John not having to play his last bowl.
And in the Ladies “B” Singles Final, Di Curell defeated Eunice Smith 25-15.
Wednesday saw the Ladies Club Social.
- Winners: Glenda Wolski, John Beattie and Wayne Emms 16 def Alison Anderson, Kay Dugdell and Arthur Smith 16-13.
- Runners up: Kev Profke, Lola Harper and Yvonne Schultz drew Nev Lawrence, Jenny Moore, Leo Robinson and Roy Wrembeck 14-all
The weather reduced the numbers of Jackpot Scroungers on Friday afternoon.
However Wayne Emms was on fire, scoring 48 points, followed by next best Eunice Smith on 17.
